Touring the District with the DG

I can’t believe I completed all my “Official Club Visits”! While the official visits are a thing of the past expect to see me at many clubs during the rest of the year. The “touring” isn’t over yet.

My last visit was on December 19th with the Rotary Club of Ventura South, and it ended with a “BANG”. Roxanne and I were invited to an evening Holiday Party at “The Wedgewood”, which was hosted by the Ventura South Club and President Bob Braitman and his wife Mary. Great songs, food, games and Company made this one fun night. I also promised the Club that I would not mention all the Booze being passed around during the gift exchange! So I will instead mention that of the 60+ gifts, I did see 4-5 of them that were not of the alcohol variety.

I always imagined that this day would be a welcome relief to a “grueling” pace to complete the visits, but it is just the opposite. Roxanne and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with ALL of You! Rotarians throughout the District are real friendly and sincere people, and if you ever have a chance to meet them, you can see for yourself. We will always look back at this Rotary opportunity as a once in a lifetime experience and will cherish the memories from our official visits with you. We would like to thank ALL of you for this opportunity, and even though we have completed our “Official Visits”, we look forward to visiting you all again soon. You have been so welcoming to us, that I wish I could join every Club in the District and attend every meeting! It has been a joy and a pleasure and even though I am done with my official visits, I will continue to do all I can to support your Club.

I am serious when I say that I am Serving with the Best that Rotary has. You should all be very proud of all you are doing for your Communities and those less fortunate around the World, and I am Proud to be a member of this District.

We are half way done with this year, and I hope you will take this time to focus on those goals you have set for your Club. Remember what these goals will do and how many will benefit from completing these. These are the building blocks for our future.

The more you do, the more rewarding it will be for everyone.

Sooo……..
Let The Good Times Roll While Doing Good Works!!! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
