Loretta Butts is a Registered Principal and independent financial advisor. Since moving to the Central Coast in 1989, she has served as the Chair of the San Luis Obispo County Commission on the Status of Women, on the Board of Directors of Life Span Services and Chair of the program advisory committee for the EOC Adult Day Care program in Templeton, CA. After serving a term on the board of the North County Women’s Shelter, she was one of the founding members of the Friends of the North County Women’s Shelter committee.
Loretta joined the Rotary Club of Atascadero in 1994 and since then has served on several of the club’s boards as Director at Large, Treasurer and as the Rotary International Foundation chair. In 2001 she was instrumental in the charter of the Rotary Club of Templeton and served as its Charter President from 2001-2003. Through her work with Rotary International, Loretta traveled to Nigeria in 2005 to assist in the Rotary’s goal of eradicating polio through a National Immunization Day (NID) while identifying the need for other Rotary sponsored programs and services in Kano, Nigeria. In 2012, representing multiple clubs from District 5240 who provided a grant for furnishings and a refrigeration unit, she accepted an invitation and participated in the dedication of the Kristina Health Clinic in a remote village in Uganda.
In addition to serving as a Charter President, she has served the District as International Service Chair, STEPS Chair, Assistant Governor and GSE Group Coordinator. She is an advisor to the Grants Committee, sits on the Future Vision Transition Committee and is the District APF Chair. Loretta will represent District 5240 as District Governor in 2014-2015.
She has received recognition as Rotarian of the Year, is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, and a member of the Paul Harris Society. Loretta ‘s husband, John, is also a Paul Harris Fellow as are other members of her family. She has 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren.
